Amper Style Elite and Special Series
Introducing a new and improved version of the Amper Style, the Amper Style Elite. Born from the Amper Style, the Amper Style Elite offers improved control with a little more binding at the transition and highly patterned plaiting, also with the added option of a matched series with any or all of the whip lines I offer. The idea for the Series Whips came from my client (and friend, Scott!). The final ideas to tweak the Amper Style into the Amper Style Elite are courtesy of Robby Amper. Thanks to these gentlemen for pushing the bar higher in my work.

Matched Series with matched patternwork:
„With these „Triplets“, Rachel McCollough set a new standard in craftsmanship, in pattern work and aesthetic balance in whip making.“
Robert Amper, Whip Basics
With the same inner build as all of my whips, this special series all started with a very tight Twisted Taper core.
Maintaining straight lines that match from belly to belly to core is essential to accuracy and rollout. I still bind all of my whips by hand.
Handles for the Triplets were shaped by hand with a rasp from one single piece of Gaboon Ebony.
Here is where this Series differs from the normal whip from my whip line. Thought of by the customer, the patternwork matches from whip to whip, as well as the Series numbers.
Here are the finished first Series. Only certain numbers of each whip line can be used as I still make and number each individual whip. each number only will ever be used once for each line. If a "021" has been made in a Steer whip, there will not be a series of "021" that matches unless that same client orders it. Once the number is used, it is not used again.
The Triplets, all lined up.
